PinksBlush Custard Apple

PinksBlush is unique in appearance. The raised dimples on the ripening fruit develop a rich tapestry of pastel pinkish-orange colours that resemble a blush. The flesh is very creamy and sweet to taste.

Custard apples are a well-balanced food having protein, fibre, minerals, vitamins, energy, and little fat. They are an excellent source of Vitamin C, a good source of dietary fibre, a useful source of Vitamin B6, magnesium and potassium, and with some B2 and complex carbohydrate.

Season: September ~ December

How does 'click and collect' work?

You place an order through Yanalla Farms online shop. After the order is paid for, an order confirmation with collection details is emailed to you. The order details are then communicated to Yanalla Farms who prepares the order for collection.

Why do I have to order in advance?

Placing an order in advance will guarantee your ‘click and collect’ order will be fulfilled on the collection day.  Staff can process your order in a timely manner, and your fresh order will be ready and waiting upon your arrival at the farm.

Can I drive to the farm and buy produce without having ordered through the ‘click and collect’ process?

No. To avoid disappointment, the only the way you can buy fruit or vegetables is through the ‘click and collect’ process.

Storing:

If buying custard apples that are firm to the touch, keep them in the fridge for longer shelf life.

It usually takes a few days to ripen the fruit before eating.

So when ready, remove the fruit from the fridge and store at room temperature.

Ripe custard apples will give slightly under pressure when squeezed, similar to an avocado.

To speed up the ripening process, place custard apples in a paper bag with a banana.

Custard apples have a fragile exterior, so a couple of spots or blemishes on the skin are normal, and the flesh inside will still be great quality.

If the skin has turned purple or black, fruit is usually past the best eating quality.

Eating:

Once ripe, it is best to store custard apples in the fridge and enjoy within three days.

When ready to eat, remove the fruit from the fridge and let it sit for around five minutes.

Cut the fruit in half, and use a spoon to scoop out the chilled, sweet and creamy pulp.

Remember not to eat the seeds or skin.
